VCCS Annual Conference Case Study

The New Horizons Conference is the premier teaching and learning conference of the Virginia’s Community College System, annually attracting almost 1,000 Virginia college faculty, staff, and administrative leaders. The conference features 200 hours of programming, 40+ exhibitors and honors award winners across the state.

Conference Logo Design

The goal was to visually capture the essence of a “new horizon”,  a new dawning of concepts, technologies, and learning opportunities for those who lead and teach at Virginia’s Community Colleges.

This video was launched weeks in advance of the event to “stir up” excitement about the annual conference and to highlight the new and improved overall look and feel of the conference. The concensus was things were looking like the conference was finally “brought into the 21st century”, when compared to previous years’ style and presentation.

This video was launched months in advance of the event to encourage past attendees and potential new attendees to learn more about the newly revamped conference.

ORIGINAL ANIMATED SHORT – VCCS NEW HORIZONS 2018

This original animated clip was based on the Welcome letter from Vice Chancellor Shannon Morrissey.  I took her written words and brought them to “life” in an entertaining, yet informative style.  The video was scheduled to only play at the beginning of the opening ceremony; however, the System’s Chancellor, Glenn Dubois, said, “Amazing, AMAZING!! Play that AGAIN! In fact, I want that played everyday of our conference. GREAT job Jenese and Congratulations!”
